I have always had a love for candles. Yankee Candles, Bath and Body Works, White Barn, Pier 1 and so many others, had no idea that they had a crazy, desperate mad woman entering their doors regularly; looking, sniffing and buying their candles. I would stay in the store for nearly an hour, looking for that one candle that had a warm cozy fragrance. After finding that one special candle, I would rush home excited to share with my husband the perfect candle that would set the mood for a perfect evening with relaxation and cuddling with him . Relaxing by candlelight would always fill the room with a warm and cozy ambiance .
Having such a love for candles, it inspired me to want to start my own candle business. Oh yes, this will be fun and easy. Making something that I so passionately love. This will be a breeze. All I will have to do is find some wax, wicks, fragrance oils and jars. Melt the wax, drop the wick in the jar and da daaaaa I have the perfect candle. Well, it didn't work quite like that. Who would have thought that a candle would be this hard to make? I didn't. I had no clue. I literally bought thousands of wicks and different waxes trying to find the perfect wick to go with the best wax and jar. Not only did I have to have the right wick, wax, and jar; I had to melt the wax, add the fragrance oil and pour wax in the jars at a certain temperature. Well, it took me a year to finally get a perfect candle. For every candle that was made, I had to test each one before putting it in my customers hands. It never ends; test, test, test until you get it right. Who would have thought it would be this hard to make a candle?
In spite of all the challenges of candle making, I have to admit, this has been the best decision that I ever could have made. After all, I found out that I am not the only one to lose their mind over candles. People love candles, both men and women. I am truly enjoying making AngeNae Collections candles with love just for you.
